Why travelers stop here
Yeoldugaeul is a valley in Yeoncheon boasting picturesque scenery. With clear, clean water and shallow streams, it is a place crowded with vacationers in the summer. Yeoldugaeul creates a scenic wonder where rocky cliffs and clear valleys join hands, stretching from Choseong-ri, Cheongsan-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun to Deokdun-ri, Sinbuk-myeon, Pocheon-gun. Attractions such as Seonnyeobawi (Fairy Rock), Mujangso, Boanso, Manjangbawi, Pyeongbawi, Doraso, Dolmukso, Bongbawi, Ssangmuso, and Yongsugolso unfold over 10 ri. It is said that in the days without bridges, to go from Beopsu-dong to Deokdun-ri, one had to cross the stream (Sannaecheon) twelve times. Now, five bridges have been built and transportation is convenient, but the name Yeoldugaeul remains.
