Why travelers stop here
Gangseo History and Culture Street is located in the Gayang-dong area, where various historical and cultural heritage sites are scattered. It was transformed from a neglected landscape into a street full of historical and cultural ambiance. The Gungsan area of Gayang-dong was the administrative center of the Joseon Dynasty where Yangcheon Hyeona was located, leaving many historical and cultural heritages throughout the area. Exit Exit 1 of Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station on Line 9, and at the entrance of Yangcheon-ro 47-gil, which connects to the Magok district, a symbolic sculpture indicating Gangseo History and Culture Street is installed. The pillar-shaped information boards contain descriptions and locations of the heritage sites, making it easy for anyone to find them. The Gangseo History and Culture Street, which connects Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum, Gungsan Tunnels, Soakru, Yangcheon Ancient Fortress Site, and Yangcheon Hyanggyo, is a course that takes about an hour on foot. When the sun sets, the history and culture street lights up with beautiful illumination, creating a scene where the lit sculptures line up, different from its daytime appearance.
