Why travelers stop here
Munsusan is the highest mountain in Gimpo, offering views of the Han River estuary and Seoul's Samgaksan Mountain to the east, and the distant Incheon coast to the west. Its scenery is beautiful in all four seasons, earning it the nickname 'Geumgangsan of Gimpo.' Munsusan Forest Bathing Park opened on December 5, 1996. It consists of approximately 4.6 km of hiking trails and 1.4 km of forest bathing paths. Convenience facilities include an octagonal pavilion, benches, open-air huts, flat stones, outdoor tables, and artificial trees, providing a comfortable resting space for citizens. It is equipped with exercise facilities such as pull-up bars, parallel bars, forest bathing platforms, leg stretching equipment, badminton courts, and foot volleyball courts, making it a citizen rest area that combines leisure and recreational activities. Additionally, it is connected to the approximately 4 km Munsusan Fortress, serving as an excellent site for historical education about resistance against foreign aggression in the late Joseon Dynasty.
