Monk Wonhyo Enlightenment Experience Center

Located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, Sudo Temple operates the Monk Wonhyo Enlightenment Experience Center to honor the enlightenment of Monk Wonhyo. According to the Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms), while Monk Wonhyo was on his way to Tang China with Monk Uisang, he mistakenly drank water from a skull he thought was a gourd in a cave near Sudo Temple and suddenly attained enlightenment. The experience center is operated to convey this enlightenment to modern people. To deepen the Monk Wonhyo Enlightenment Experience, the temple also runs temple life programs, temple stays, and a temple food learning center.
