Gasa Dongbaek Forest Beach

Gasa Dongbaek Forest Beach is a beautiful beach located on the south side of Joyakdo Island in Wando. In March, red camellia flowers are said to dye the blue sea water red, creating a spectacular sight. This is the only beach on Joyakdo Island, where hundreds of centuries-old camellia trees, along with machilus and castanopsis trees, encircle the entire beach. The beach is about 300 meters long, modest in size, but offers the opportunity to enjoy both swimming and forest bathing at the same time.

The rocky reefs at both ends of the sandy beach of Gasa Dongbaek Forest Beach are famous sea fishing spots, rich in fish resources such as sea bream, sea bass, and rockfish, allowing fishing all year round. Additionally, when the tide goes out during low tide, mudflat experiences are possible.
