Seoul Transportation Corporation Jichuk Depot

Jichuk Depot is one of the vehicle depots for Seoul Subway Line 3, serving as a maintenance base for heavy repairs of trains on Lines 3 and 4. This depot was established by Seoul Metro (now Seoul Transportation Corporation), but trains of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) are also stored here. With the depot connected to Gupabal Station and Samsong Station, trains terminating at Samsong from Daehwa were introduced, and all KORAIL trains are assigned to Jichuk Depot. Currently, it handles the entry and exit, light and heavy maintenance of Seoul Transportation Corporation's 3000-series VVVF electric trains and KORAIL's 3000-series electric trains, as well as heavy maintenance of Seoul Transportation Corporation's 4000-series VVVF electric trains. Seoul Transportation Corporation strives to ensure safe subway use for everyone and operates programs that engage citizens. Programs offered include safety experiences such as emergency door opening and closing methods, emergency communication device and fire extinguisher handling procedures, depot tours including passenger cabins and driver's cabs, and other tours and photography within the depot. Daily tour capacity is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 participants, and confirmation of participation is notified via an approval text message.
