Dongju Salt Farm

Dongju Salt Farm is located in Daebudong-dong 4-ri, surrounded by the sea and mountains on all sides. Daebudo Dongju Salt Farm has long been renowned as a production site for solar salt, where seawater concentrated in evaporation ponds is transferred to earthenware salt pans and crystallized by wind and sunlight. Made by gathering the heat of the sun and the energy of the wind from seawater, its commercial value is also excellent. Starting in 1953, it has adhered to traditional methods of salt harvesting and even supplied salt to the Blue House. At the salt farm experience center, visitors can learn about and experience the process of making solar salt firsthand.
