Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
This is a food culture demonstration street in Tanhyeon-myeon, designated in 2007, serving as an important dining destination for visitors to the area. While there is no specific representative dish, you can feel the taste and sincerity of a hometown meal prepared by a mother. The types of food are mainly Korean set meals, including spicy stew, grilled duck, country-style table, braised hairtail, shabu-shabu, bulgogi with octopus, kalguksu, nurungji samgyetang, and galbi. There are about 60 restaurants here. In particular, the spicy tofu stew made with Jangdan beans, a representative local specialty of Paju, is a delicacy that can only be enjoyed in Paju. In addition to local restaurants, there are also restaurants and cafes favored by the younger generation. Paju Matgoeul Food Culture Street not only offers great restaurants but also a flower village cultivated by residents, allowing visitors to enjoy flower viewing along with gastronomy. After enjoying the food culture street according to your taste, it is recommended to visit Provence Village, Heyri Village, Tongil Dongsan, or Odusan Unification Observatory.
