Yeoju Farm Stay Village

경기도 여주시 금사면 윗범실길 8-3

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Sangho-ri is not a place with spectacular views of bizarre rocks and strange stones, but it is an area where you can feel a refreshing sensation as if the deep mountain valleys of Gangwon-do have been gently moved to Gyeonggi-do, thanks to the thick mountain ranges that bury the village in solitude and the clear air emanating from the primeval forest. Our village, the home of Yeoju rice once offered to the king, is surrounded by high and rugged mountains, and in the past, it was called Hogok, Hosil, or Beomsil because many tigers lived here. Surrounded by Daeryeombong, Surisan, and Hosillyeong, Sangho-ri village is abundant with various wild greens in spring, and organic vegetables, mixed grains, shiitake mushrooms, and chestnuts are everywhere.

You can experience making hand-made tofu by grinding soybeans with a millstone in the traditional way and boiling them in a cauldron, as well as making injeolmi by steaming glutinous rice in a steamer, pounding it in a mortar, and coating it with bean powder. As the sun sets, the taste of freshly puffed injeolmi coated with bean powder and popped into your mouth is truly the best of the best!! At night, you can build a bonfire on the lawn, roast sweet potatoes or chestnuts, and chat intimately. When dawn breaks, the clear bird songs from all around make an alarm clock unnecessary in this typical farming village.
