Why travelers stop here
Nue Island is a small uninhabited island off the nearby Tando Port. When the tide goes out twice a day for four hours each time, the mudflat is exposed, allowing visitors to walk to the island. The Nue Island Lighthouse Observatory was built near the summit of Nue Island by Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province, to provide opportunities for eco-learning combined with fishing village tourism and to guide the safe operation of fishing boats in the West Sea. The first floor displays various paintings and materials related to the natural environment of Nue Island, lighthouses, and the sea; the second floor exhibits domestic and international lighthouse paintings and model displays. The third floor features an observatory offering a panoramic view of the sea and a lighthouse installed to guide the safe passage of ships. The Nue Island Lighthouse Observatory offers views of nearby beautiful islands such as Daebudo, Tando Port, Jeolgok Port, and Seongamdo, and is a popular spot for many people to capture the scenery of the Tando Port wind farm combined with the sunset.
