Why travelers stop here
Hangil Book Museum is a book museum operated by Hangilsa, a publisher that was founded in 1976 and has led the humanities publishing in our time. It opened to share the beauty of book lovers and the artisans who created old books. Hangil Book Museum is designed to avoid direct sunlight and artificial light, which is considered unsuitable, so that it does not enter directly into the museum interior. A major feature is its design to harmonize well with the natural landscape. Representative collections of the museum include William Morris's works of Chaucer, of which only a very few complete sets (53 types, 66 volumes) exist worldwide, and this museum holds a representative collection in Korea. It also houses unique art books such as European old books from the 17th to 19th centuries, and art collections of famous artists like Gustave Doré, William Turner, and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
