Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Gyeongui Line Book Street is a book-themed street created on the abandoned Gyeongui Line site at Hongdae Complex History, reviving the book culture of King Jeongjo's era in the late 18th century, which aimed to govern through literature, in a modern sense, to provide citizens with a complex cultural space through books. It was completed in October 2016 with the hope that citizens visiting Gyeongui Line Book Street would share the wisdom of a healthy life through the great value of a book published in the world, realize their dreams, and develop into a starting base to increase the added value of Mapo's publishing industry.
