Jipyeong Fishing Spot

Located at Wolsan Reservoir in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, Jipyeong Fishing Spot is a beautiful place as wide as a lake. It has become well-known for its excellent natural scenery, attracting many tourists who seek to escape their daily routines and enjoy leisurely fishing. Completed in 1968, Jisan Reservoir has an average depth of 4 to 5 meters, making it quite deep, and it is a natural fishing spot fed by clear first-grade valley water. It is home to native crucian carp, true crucian carp, carp, leather carp, and catfish, and fish are periodically released, making it famous for offering thrilling catches. The surrounding landscape is so beautiful that fireflies can be seen on summer nights, and in winter, many people visit to enjoy the smelt festival. The smelt festival has relatively low admission fees and features a food market offering smelt fries, smelt sashimi, fish cake, and gimbap, making it a great place for a special winter experience with family.
