Why travelers stop here
This is a drive course created by Cheongpyeong Lake and Homyeongsan Mountain. It is good in all seasons, but the peak season is late October and early November when the autumn leaves are at their best. There are two courses. The most well-known course is about 30km long, starting at the entrance intersection of Cheongpyeong Dam, following National Route 75 along the Bukhangang River, passing through Gapyeong Bridge and Sincheon Intersection, turning onto National Route 37, and ending at Cheongpyeong Bridge. The mountains and lake harmonize beautifully with the autumn leaves. There are several cafes along the Bukhangang River and parking spots in the middle where you can take a break. The second course is called Sangji-gil, about 12km long, located between Gapyeong-eup and Cheongpyeong-myeon, crossing Homyeongsan Mountain from Sangji-ro 78, Gapyeong-gun to Bokjang-ri 319-1, Gapyeong-eup. This road is winding and occasionally has parking space for 1-2 cars. In spring, you can see acacia flowers, and in autumn, you can see autumn leaves.
