Why travelers stop here
Baekak Museum of Art is a specialized exhibition museum for Korean calligraphy and literati painting, opened in 1983. It was established by calligrapher Iljung Kim Chung-hyun for the benefit of future scholars. Since the launch of the Iljung Memorial Project in 2007, the museum has housed the Iljung Calligraphy Memorial Hall within its premises to honor the achievements of Iljung, a pioneer in calligraphy, and permanently displays his representative works. Following the principle of 'beopgo changsin' (creating the new by learning from the old), the museum strives to serve as a bridge between tradition and modernity through calligraphy activities, contributing to vibrant creative and exhibition activities in the Korean art world.
