Why travelers stop here
Bukchon Living History Museum is a museum that exhibits the history of Bukchon, a traditional hanok village in Seoul with a 600-year history. It is a private museum established to collect, preserve, and display everyday items used by people who have lived or are living in the area for a long time, thereby organizing the modern and contemporary history of the region and contributing to the succession and development of local traditions and culture. The museum holds over 3,000 vivid artifacts of daily life used by Bukchon residents over the tumultuous 100 years of Korea's modern and contemporary history. Each artifact, ranging from the early Joseon Dynasty to the late 1970s, has been used in real life over a long period, and visitors can encounter the genuine life stories of the people who cherished and used these items, as well as the old scent emanating from the deep patina of use.
