Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
In 1998, a unique hanok opened in Yangpyeong where you can taste authentic Japanese sukiyaki. It is Sagakhaneul. A Korean wife runs this place based on the tea ceremony and kaiseki cuisine she studied for a long time in Korea and Japan, in a uniquely structured hanok designed and built by her husband, a Japanese architect. You can enjoy sukiyaki set meals while looking at the serene interior and the sunlit courtyard, as well as a matcha tea ceremony experience in the formal Japanese tea room prepared in the annex. The beautiful wildflowers in the meticulously maintained garden, along with pine trees, maple trees, and cherry blossom trees that offer different feelings each season, are also charming points of Sagakhaneul.
