Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, ALBUS Gallery is Korea's first illustration-specialized gallery, opened in May 2017. Its name is derived from the Latin word 'ALBUS', meaning white, the origin of all images.
Resembling a rolled white sheet of drawing paper, ALBUS Gallery aims to showcase the unique stories of artists, like an open book containing narratives on a white background. It introduces illustration works that have rarely been highlighted as art pieces, striving to create a culture where adults and children can together appreciate not only illustrations from picture books and fairy tales often seen by children but also all beautiful pictures with stories.
