Why travelers stop here
Mulkkobang is a hanok cafe located near Gomo Reservoir in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. It operates in a hanok that is over 100 years old. The owner, captivated by the beauty of hanok, dismantled two hanok houses in Jongno-gu, Seoul, moved them to Pocheon, and restored them over five years. The hanok, originally in 'ㄱ' and 'ㅡ' shapes, was combined and restored into a 'ㄷ' shape, with a new gate and sarangchae (guest quarters) built. The rafters are made of Geumgang pine over 100 years old, and the roof tiles are fired using traditional methods. Traditional hanok aesthetics are blended with modern interior design, pursuing both external beauty and convenience. Handmade teas are sold in both warm and cold varieties. The food uses visually appealing and delicious ingredients.
