Why travelers stop here
Pocheon Ttukbaegi is a red brick tile-roofed house near Pocheon Police Station, specializing in hangover soup. It is a third-generation family-run hangover soup restaurant, with the main menu being seonji haejangguk (blood sausage hangover soup) boiled in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) with a rich broth. Other popular menu items include kongnamul hwangtae haejangguk (bean sprout and dried pollock hangover soup) made with refreshing bean sprouts and dried pollock, and naejang-tang (intestine soup) with generous amounts of innards. Side dishes served with the soup rice include baechu kimchi (cabbage kimchi), kkakdugi (radish kimchi), gochujang jangajji (pickled chili peppers), and hobakjeon (pumpkin pancake). The side dishes are plentiful and delicious. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot in front, and if it is full, there is an additional parking lot across the street for convenience.
