Why travelers stop here
Seopo Kalguksu is a popular kalguksu (noodle soup) restaurant in Songtan, Pyeongtaek-si. When you order, barley rice is served as an appetizer; mixing it with the lightly seasoned vegetables gives a spicy kick that whets your appetite. The broth, made with clams, shrimp, sea squirts, oysters, zucchini, and shiitake mushrooms, is refreshing, and the noodles are chewy and springy. This place is also famous for red bean kalguksu, offering both red bean kalguksu and red bean porridge with rice dumplings (saeal patjuk). The red bean porridge is generously filled with round rice dumplings. The main ingredients, red beans and soybeans, are 100% domestic, and the rice dumplings are made from five grains. The summer menu item, kongguksu (soybean noodle soup), features a rich and nutty soy milk broth. The accompanying side dishes are homemade mixed pickled radish and kimchi.
