Our people have maintained the identity and uniqueness of traditional culture for a long period of 5,000 years while accepting foreign cultures. However, with the development of industry and rapid changes in lifestyle today, our traditional culture is gradually fading. At this point, it is very important to systematically study and exhibit Minhwa, the traditional heritage of our people, to appreciate this excellent cultural heritage.

The Gahoe Museum of Minhwa was established with the purpose of awakening the value of our precious cultural heritage by deeply studying Minhwa and talismans that contain the lives and wisdom of our ancestors. The Minhwa exhibited at the Gahoe Museum of Minhwa, which opened in 2002, are paintings that resemble our lives, containing simple human wishes such as longevity without illness, wealth with many sons, and wealth and honor. Meanwhile, through Minhwa with exorcistic meanings, people believed that the magical power of the depicted materials would protect them from various disasters and grant their wishes.
