Why travelers stop here
Gongpyeong Historic Site Museum opened on September 12, 2018, with the aim of fully preserving Seoul's urban relics in their original locations. During the urban environment improvement project for the Gongpyeong 1, 2, and 4 districts in 2015, the alleyways and building sites of historical Seoul, from Joseon-era Hanyang to modern Gyeongseong, were completely excavated. Through various contents and exhibition techniques utilizing unearthed everyday artifacts, it showcases the appearance of Hanyang in the 16th and 17th centuries. Additionally, alleyways used from the Joseon period to the present have been identified, allowing visitors to walk along Imun-an-gil and Jeondong Alley and directly experience the feeling of being in the Joseon era.
