Why travelers stop here
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has become a pivotal infrastructure industry in our society today, overcoming the pain of national division and the Korean War, as well as Japanese colonial rule, together with the people since the first electric light was lit at Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1887. Continuously growing amidst the turbulent history of the 20th century, KEPCO has been a driving force for national economic development and tirelessly strives for infinite responsibility to the national economy and customers, as well as the promotion of electric power culture.
KEPCO established the Electricity Museum to systematically organize and preserve the electrical history of the past century, and to inform people of the preciousness of electricity and the development process of modern science. The Electricity Museum is the wish of power industry workers to pass down valuable electric power cultural heritage imbued with the spirit of power workers to future generations.
