Gangcheon Maeuntang

Gangcheon Maeuntang is a freshwater spicy fish stew specialty restaurant located in Gangcheon-myeon, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere from the entrance, and the interior is clean. Gangcheon Maeuntang offers a variety of freshwater dishes, including bullhead, catfish, mandarin fish, and wild freshwater eel, all caught from the Namhangang River in Yeoju. The ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are well-prepared without the typical fishy smell of freshwater fish. The fish in the menu items are meaty, the broth is refreshing, and the portions are generous. The accompanying side dishes are on par with a Korean set meal, with 16 different varieties filling the table. The spicy fish stew is served pre-boiled, so you only need to cook the vegetables on top once before eating. Gangcheon Maeuntang also operates a condo-style guesthouse alongside the restaurant. Gangcheonseom Resort is 1km away, and within 10km, there are many historical sites such as the Heunam-ri Prehistoric Site, the Birthplace of Empress Myeongseong, King Sejong's Tomb, and Yeoju Silleuksa Temple, as well as numerous golf courses.
