Why travelers stop here
A specialty restaurant serving braised hairtail (galchi jorim) located in Sudong-myeon, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Opened in 1993, this restaurant has been run by a married couple for over 30 years. It is a hanok (traditional Korean house) over 100 pyeong in size, with exposed beams and neatly arranged wood-toned tables. The signature menu is spicy and sweet braised hairtail made with dried radish leaves (siraegi) and Jeju silver hairtail. When you order, they serve rice cooked in a small earthen pot. After scooping out the rice, you can add water to the pot to make nurungji (scorched rice). High chairs are available, making it convenient for families with children. After the meal, you can brew coffee from a coffee vending machine and relax in the outdoor seating area. Reservations can be made in advance.
