Why travelers stop here
Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Children's Library is the only public library exclusively for children in Korea, established in 1979 to commemorate the International Year of the Child. It is located inside Sajik Park at the foot of Inwangsan Mountain. The library houses a wide range of materials for kindergarten and elementary school children, including various dictionaries, computer resources, textbooks, science, art, classics, creative stories, history, and geography books published in Korea. Materials can be freely selected and used, and some can be borrowed for home use. All necessary materials for children are available in the first and second reading rooms, the toddler room, and digital resources can be accessed in the digital reading room. Additionally, an exhibition space is provided as a cultural sharing area for children and local residents, and various lectures and reading clubs are operated to encourage children to engage with books.
