Why travelers stop here
The Amorepacific Museum of Art is an art museum that changed its name in 2009 from the museum that displayed artworks collected by the late founder Seo Seong-hwan of Amorepacific to the Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA). It was established with the aim of being an 'open space for discovering beauty in everyday life' and to communicate with the public. In line with this purpose, it collects, researches, and exhibits Korean traditional art and contemporary art from Korea and abroad, and supports related researchers, academic societies, and young artists. The basement floor exhibition hall hosts diverse special exhibitions encompassing traditional art, contemporary art, and Korean art. The large space 'Atrium' spanning the first to third floors features the museum lobby, a museum shop, the exhibition space 'APMA Cabinet', and the world exhibition catalog library (apLAP) on the first floor. The museum is located on the first floor of the new Amorepacific headquarters building, which was built with a motif of white porcelain, a representative architectural landmark of Yongsan.
