Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Yongsan Library opened in April 1981 in Duteopbawi Village, Huam-dong, located at the foot of Namsan Mountain. The building spans from the first basement floor to the fifth floor above ground, and is equipped with various facilities such as a literature information room, digital and periodicals room, children's room, and self-study room, supporting local residents' reading, lifelong education, and leisure activities. Reflecting the characteristics of the area with a high proportion of foreign residents, it operates various multicultural programs such as Korean language classes for foreigners, and the children's room is stocked with level-appropriate English original books and multilingual books. Additionally, it runs poetry as a specialized project, offering creative poetry contests, poetry writing classes, and award-winning work galleries to allow poetry to be experienced in various ways, and provides diverse cultural programs including a small gallery and film screenings. The cafeteria on the first floor operates at affordable prices, receiving positive responses from local residents, and the rooftop garden on the fifth floor offers a panoramic view of Seoul, drawing attention as a sunset spot in the city.
