Why travelers stop here
Kim Dae-jung Library opened in November 2003 as Asia's first presidential library. It was established based on the will of former President Kim Dae-jung, the 15th President of the Republic of Korea and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who donated the library building, over 16,000 items, 10,000 volumes of books, and the Nobel Peace Prize prize money to Yonsei University, as well as the founding philosophy of Yonsei University. Kim Dae-jung Library aims to honor the spirit of former President Kim Dae-jung, who dedicated himself to democracy, human rights, peace, and poverty eradication, and to evolve into a world-class institution for education, research, and archival preservation.
