Why travelers stop here
Todam Sundae Guk is a sundae guk (blood sausage soup) specialty restaurant located in the Daehwa-dong food alley in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. It opened in 2001 and has been operating consistently in Ilsan for over 20 years. Instead of using pork bones or leg bones, it boasts a clean broth without any off-putting smells, made by simmering Korean beef castrated bull leg bones in a large cauldron for a long time. Additionally, head meat is used, and the pork head is boiled directly at the store twice daily. The menu includes a variety of options: from the basic traditional sundae guk, to meat sundae guk for those who do not like head meat, spicy sundae guk for those who enjoy spicy food, and suyuk guk (boiled pork slices soup), which is Todam's style of pork gukbap (rice soup). For takeout orders, calling in advance allows you to pick up without waiting.
