Why travelers stop here
The Nurungji is a seafood nurungji-tang (scorched rice soup) specialty restaurant located in Deogi-dong, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, near Deogi Elementary School. It is easy to find as it is on a main road, and there is a spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant for convenient parking. The clean and spacious interior has tables arranged with ample spacing. The signature menu items include the basic nurungji-tang made with fresh seafood such as webfoot octopus, whelk meat, cuttlefish, and shrimp, along with seasonal vegetables; the seafood-loaded nurungji-tang featuring abalone, pen shells, and scallops directly shipped from Wando and Nohwado; and the maesaengi (seaweed) oyster nurungji-tang with a rich ocean flavor. Additionally, the glutinous rice sweet and sour pork made with only grade 1 domestic sirloin is a popular side menu. The clean side dishes and salad provided as complimentary items can be taken from the self-service corner. All menu items at The Nurungji are available for takeout.
