Garibong Market

A traditional market established around 1976 that retains the appearance of old Garibong from the 1970s to 1990s. Currently, there are many shops selling food ingredients targeting Chinese-Korean residents living nearby. In 2018, the installation of arcades and floor construction were completed, allowing for a pleasant shopping experience regardless of the weather. Garibong-dong was a booming residential area behind the Guro Industrial Complex, an export industrial zone in the 1970s, and there were times when it was so crowded on weekends that people jostled through the streets. In the market, a Chinese dumpling restaurant introduced as a master of pan-fried dumplings on the TV program <Master of Living> and a gopchang restaurant that has been in the same spot for 30 years, featured on <Kim Young-chul's Neighborhood Tour>, are famous.
