As its name suggests, Gamagol Rest Area is a restaurant with a countryside atmosphere, located deep in the winding mountains of Danyang. The interior is clean, cozy, and spacious. The menu includes perilla seed dumpling soup (deulkkae ongsimi), perilla seed soybean noodle soup (deulkkae kongguksu), potato pancakes (gamjajeon), and braised chicken (dakbokkeumtang). Since cooking begins upon ordering, it may take some time. The restaurant uses potatoes and perilla seeds grown in Danyang, and the chewy noodles are made with mugwort grown in Gamagol. The kalguksu, with its savory perilla seeds, chewy ongsimi, and subtle mugwort aroma, is excellent.
