Why travelers stop here
Gajok Hoegwan is a bibimbap specialty restaurant that opened in 1973 and has been a family business for three generations. The first-generation owner, Kim Nyeon-im, is a holder of the 39th Jeollabuk-do Intangible Cultural Property for bibimbap and the 39th Master of Traditional Food designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The menu includes Jeonju bibimbap, yukhoe bibimbap, and the Gajok Hoegwan set meal, which must be reserved a day in advance. When ordering bibimbap, basic side dishes are neatly served on a wooden tray. The table is set with over ten types of side dishes and a hot pot steamed egg. Jeonju bibimbap is made with organic agricultural products from the Jeonbuk region, and the rice cooked with beef bone broth is coated so that it does not harden even when cooled. It is a place where you can enjoy a clean and mild taste while also taking care of your health.
