Galchiwang

Galchiwang in Jeju is a hairtail (galchi) specialty restaurant that sources fresh hairtail auctioned on the same day at Seogwipo Port and offers it at affordable prices. The menu is not extensive, featuring steamed whole hairtail with seafood, grilled whole hairtail, and boneless braised hairtail. However, when ordering a main dish, basic side dishes such as seasonal vegetables, soy sauce marinated crab, hairtail sashimi, butter-grilled abalone, grilled mackerel, and rice are provided, allowing for a hearty meal. The steamed whole hairtail with seafood also includes rock octopus, horned turban shells, and pen shells. The boneless braised hairtail is Galchiwang's signature dish, available in mild or spicy options, with servings for 2, 3, or 4 people. After ordering the meal, additional items such as grilled hairtail, braised shrimp, and abalone can be added.
