Why travelers stop here
Gangdanggol Valley is a valley on the northern slope of Gwangdeoksan Mountain (699m), spanning Asan City and Cheonan City, through which Oeamcheon Stream flows. It is also called Gangdanggol or Yanghwadam. This valley features clear water and dense forests, offering the ambiance of a deep mountain valley. The stream bed is composed of bedrock, creating a beautiful harmony of water, forest, and rocks, attracting many visitors seeking relief from daily fatigue. To the south and west, forest roads and hiking trails leading to Gwangdeoksan Mountain are well-maintained, making it ideal for combining a hike up Gwangdeoksan. Songak-myeon, where this area is located, is the region with the highest deer farming in the country, so visitors can purchase various deer-related products such as antlers, bone extract, and deer meat shabu-shabu. Nearby Gangdanggol Village also offers accommodations including pensions, guesthouses, campgrounds, and glamping sites. In addition to Gwangdeoksan Mountain, nearby tourist attractions include Oeam Folk Village, Songak Reservoir, and Asan Maeng Clan Haengdan, allowing for combined sightseeing.
