Gangdong Mongdol Beach (Jeongja Beach)

This beach, located in Sanha-dong, Buk-gu, is composed of rounded pebbles (mongdol). It can be reached by driving north along the coastal road from Jujeon for about 20 minutes. To the north of Gangdong Mongdol Beach lie Gangdong Hwamam Columnar Joints and Sinmyeong Beach. Gangdong Mongdol Beach is a rare pebble beach on the east coast, where the sound of pebbles colliding with the waves is quite loud.

The advantage of a pebble beach is that it is easy to walk on and there is no hassle of getting sand stuck to your feet after swimming. The beach environment, restrooms, drinking fountains, and sinks are well-maintained, making it suitable for camping. Apartment complexes and commercial facilities such as cafes are located around the beach, providing convenient amenities.
