Gangneung Namsan Park

Gangneung Namsan Park is a beautiful park in all four seasons where history and culture coexist, and green spaces and nature are alive and breathing. It offers views of the cityscape including the Namdaecheon Stream from the observation area within the park, and features forest trails, rest areas, and a grass square, making it an open cultural space where visitors can enjoy exercise, leisure, and relaxation. Walking along Namdaecheon Stream and crossing Changpo Bridge leads to Namsan Park; taking an evening stroll here allows you to exercise while enjoying the cool night views of Gangneung. In Gangneung Namsan Park, there is a wooden pavilion called Oseongjeong, a tangible cultural heritage, which is said to have been first built in the 5th year of King Injo of Joseon (1627). The current building is said to have been relocated from part of the Gangneung Gaeksa (guesthouse) in 1927 by a group of people born in the year of Jeongmyo (丁卯). When cherry blossoms bloom, it is very beautiful and attracts many visitors.
