Gangseo Sports Park was completed in June 2002 with a total construction cost of KRW 92.7 billion on a site area of 208,985㎡. It consists of an indoor gymnasium where fencing and badminton competitions were held during the 2002 Busan Asian Games, a hockey stadium with 2,000 seats, an auxiliary stadium with 500 seats, and an archery field.
Gangseo Sports Park was created as a sports family park for leisure facilities such as citizen sports and cultural centers, as well as stadiums for each sport. The two natural turf fields are used as exclusive practice grounds for Busan IPark and youth soccer clubs.
