Gangjeong Goryeongbo

대구광역시 달성군 다사읍 강정본길 57

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

This is both a weir and a bridge on the Nakdong River, built as part of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project. Gangjeongbo, one of Daegu's 12 scenic spots, was designed with the concept of the Daegaya culture and Daegu's cutting-edge science and fashion, and is the longest among the 16 weirs nationwide. In the middle of the weir, there is Tanjude and a water-friendly facility called Naknakseom. Tanjude is a observation deck shaped like Gaya pottery and a gayageum, located in the center of the bridge, providing a shaded rest area where cyclists on the Daegu bicycle path can enjoy the Nakdong River breeze. Naknakseom is a beautiful artificial island shaped like a gear, representing Daegu Dalseong-gun's advanced science and its nine townships and myeons, where visitors can experience and enjoy water activities. Daegu City and Dalseong-gun plan and host various cultural events and festivals for local residents at Gangjeongbo and the nearby D-ARK. The wide plaza and waterside water experience center are also available for use, and the area around the weir is popular for cycling. Additionally, it is an excellent spot to watch the sunset over the Nakdong River in the evening, and the night view is also superb. It has become a word-of-mouth destination for a convenient family picnic spot near Daegu.
