Why travelers stop here
Gyesu Bam Farm is a farm in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, with about 2,000 chestnut trees. It is only available in autumn when the chestnuts ripen and can be harvested. On weekends, it is so popular that visitors must make a reservation through Naver to enter. Since there are many trees and chestnut burrs can be dangerous, long sleeves and long pants are required, and mosquito repellent, sneakers, a hat, personal gloves, and tongs are essential. There is no separate experience fee, but you pay by weight for the chestnuts you pick. The best time for chestnut picking is from the last week of September to the first week of October. Many large, high-quality chestnuts are found on slightly hilly paths rather than flat ground, and since chestnut burrs fall in the early morning, it is best to go in the morning.
