The old name of Goryeosan Mountain (436m) is Oryeonsan. In the 4th year of King Jangsu of Goguryeo (416), a monk from India climbed Goryeosan Mountain and discovered Oryeonji Pond with five-colored lotuses blooming. It is said that he scattered five lotus flowers, and temples were built where each flower landed: Jeoknyeonsa (Jeokseoksa), Baengnyeonsa, Cheongnyeonsa, Hwangnyeonsa, and Heungnyeonsa, corresponding to the colors red, white, blue, yellow, and black. Additionally, Goryeosan Mountain holds about 130 dolmens nearby, and Sirumisan Mountain to the north is known as the birthplace of Yeon Gaesomun.<br /><br />* Goryeosan Azalea Art Festival (April)
