Gochang Hajeon Tidal Flat Village

Hajeon Tidal Flat Village in Simwon-myeon is one of the 100 beautiful fishing villages selected. It is a village with a 10km coastline and vast tidal flats spanning 1,200 hectares, producing 4,000 tons of Manila clams annually, making it the largest Manila clam production area in the country. In addition to the local specialty Manila clams, experiences such as catching blue crabs, whelks, and conchs are available, with programs for general visitors, families, groups, and overnight stays. Hajeon Village is a famous travel destination as an outdoor classroom for tidal flats and a nationally renowned well-being tidal flat ecological experience learning site. Seafood including Manila clams, the pride of Hajeon Village, as well as eel, king prawns, oysters, mullet, and pole-cultured red clay laver can be purchased directly from the production area. Additionally, accommodation is available within the village, and tidal flat experiences are possible from April to October. In front of the Tidal Flat Experience Information Center, there is a large parking lot for outside tourists and a foot-washing facility to clean up after various tidal flat activities. Various convenience facilities such as restaurants and showers, as well as first aid kits for emergencies, are also available. Nearby attractions include Seonunsa Temple, Gochang-eupseong Fortress, and Sanga Farm.
