Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Now in its 4th year, Gwanghwamun Market is an event held to revitalize Seoul's night tourism and support small business owners. From December 12 to December 31, the Gwanghwamun Square area transforms into a Santa village from a winter fairy tale. The Santa village will feature booths for small business owners selling Christmas season items and food, partner booths for corporate collaborations, photo zones, and various experiential event programs. A total of 45 market teams per season, a 15-meter large tree, 10 different Christmas photo zones, and programs exclusive to Gwanghwamun Market such as the Rudolph merry-go-round and Teddy Bear Photo Studio (four-cut photos) are prepared. Additionally, special seasonal offerings include gifts from Christmas fairies and merry-go-round attendants, as well as photo opportunities with Santa Claus, allowing visitors to become characters in a Christmas fairy tale and create special memories for a day.
