Geumgang Olgaengi

Okcheon, where the Geumgang River flows, is famous for its freshwater snails (dasulgi). Whenever the media introduces Okcheon's representative foods, freshwater snails are always included. Among Okcheon's freshwater snail restaurants, Geumgang Dasulgi stands out with its outstanding reputation. In addition to its first branch in the town center, it operates a second branch at Samyang Intersection. When heading from Geumsan to Okcheon, Samyang Intersection appears just before entering Okcheon. Geumgang Dasulgi's second branch is located at the corner of that intersection. This place's olgaengi soup, generously filled with mallow leaves and chives and even added with handmade dumpling dough, contains more freshwater snails than anywhere else. When you scoop from the bottom with a spoon, it is filled with only freshwater snails. The broth is refreshing and has a slightly sweet and chewy texture, making it even more enjoyable.
