Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located on the west side of National Route 31, about 9 km south of Jangpyeong-ri in Yongpyeong-myeon, this mountain extends southwest from Baeksuksan Mountain, which is the main ridge connecting Odaesan Mountain and Gariwangsan Mountain. Its height is 1,173 m, situated between Baeksuksan Mountain to the east and Daemisan Mountain to the west. It encompasses the Geumdang Valley in the upper reaches of the Pyeongchang River, making it a good spot for water play. There is Bonghwangdae, a 60-meter-high vertical cliff, and it has been said since ancient times that no birds other than the phoenix could approach this place.
