Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Kumho Tire is one of the world's top 10 tire manufacturers, exporting to over 180 countries, and is proactive in consumer communication. The Kumho Tire Gwangju Plant operates a tire history museum and a factory tour program.

The tire history museum is located on the first floor of the main building of the Gwangju Plant, covering an area of approximately 260 pyeong, and is designed with six exhibition zones under the theme 'Continuity of Trajectory.' It is divided into the Tire Development/Manufacturing Zone, which introduces the main processes of tire production; the New Technology Product Zone; the Public Relations Zone; the Founding History Zone, which displays major artifacts of the late founder Park In-chun, who started with two taxis and built the current Kumho Asiana Group, and introduces the group's history; and the Company History Zone, which shows the history of Kumho Tire. In particular, the Motorsports Zone, which displays an actual F3 racing machine and racing tires used by competition winners, attracts visitors' attention. The museum also offers tire-related experiences that are not commonly available, and key tire technologies such as compound rubber, rebound resilience, rolling resistance, and drainage performance are demonstrated right before visitors' eyes through button operations.
