Geumhwaji is a reservoir located in Geumhwa-ri, Gasan-myeon, Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. As a protected water source area, it maintains unpolluted natural beauty. Built for agricultural water development, construction began on August 10, 1978, and was completed on November 27, 1984. Upstream from the embankment lies Geumhwa Valley and Geumgoksa Temple, said to have been founded during the Silla Dynasty. Tourist farms have been established around the valley, making it a representative tourist attraction in Chilgok-gun.
