Why travelers stop here
This house, a Tangible Cultural Heritage of Chungcheongbuk-do, is said to have been the residence of the concubine of Kim Se-gyun, who served as a high-ranking official (Ijo Panseo) during the late Joseon Dynasty. It was relocated here in 1983 due to the construction of Chungju Dam and is currently designated as a Tangible Cultural Heritage of Chungcheongbuk-do. Originally divided into an inner house (anchae) and a guest house (sarangchae), the inner house was moved to Mureung-ri, leaving only the guest house. With its L-shaped structure, the house's size and style offer a glimpse into the life of a noble family (sadaebu) during the Joseon Dynasty. Set against the backdrop of Deokju Mountain on a high stone platform, climbing the stone steps and passing through a single-leaf gate reveals its splendid appearance.
